Do All Cats Need Regular Checkups? Yes!
Steve Dale, CABCCat Checkups & Preventive Care
Some people take cats for granted. The sad truth is that many cats are not receiving ongoing preventive healthcare as they should, according to American Animal Hospital Association CEO, Dr. Michael Cavanaugh. Indoor cats may be inherently healthier, not getting hit by cars or chased down by a coyote, but they can still get heart disease, cancer, hyperthyroid disease, etc… Even indoor cats are also potentially susceptible to fleas and heartworm if they’re not appropriately protected. In this video, Dr. Cavanaugh also speaks to getting cats to the vets more often, which is a part of keeping cats healthy.
If you have any questions or concerns, you should always visit or call your veterinarian — they are your best resource to ensure the health and well-being of your pets.
